The #1Lib1Ref campaign is now in its 4th year, and the Canadian friendly competition is in 2nd year! Wikimedia Canada invites you to participate in the 2021 competition running from January 15th to February 5th. Imagine a world where each librarian added at least one reference to an article in Wikipedia... together, we can contribute to the reliability and credibility of humanity's most consulted source of information! How to participate?editFirst, join the Canadian #1Lib1Ref Dashboard (see below). Then, add a citation to Wikipedia. You can use the Citation Hunt tool to find articles needing references. You can also participate to one of our online community hours (see below) or also organize your own event such as a virtual edit-a-thon. Do not hesitate to contact our team; we can help you. Online community hourseditWikimedia Canada is hosting a series of online "community hours" where you are invited to come share your contributions to the campaign and to ask your questions. Those community hours will be hosted by volunteers from Wikimedia Canada, and are an excellent opportunity to meet other Canadian Wikimedians. Click on the date below to register and receive the online meeting URL.
DashboardeditIn order to compile the contributions of each institution in the friendly competition, Wikimedia Canada is using the Wikimedia Dasboard. This year, the dashboards are divided by province and territory. To participate, you must register in the dashboard of the province/territory of your institution with your Wikimedia username. For help with using the Dashboard, please visit this Google Doc or download this PDF from Wikimedia Commmons.
