Goals and measures of success
editProject goal
edit- This statement describes what will be accomplished if the project is successful.
- The goal of this project is to engage the Canadian public and convert participants to movement contributors. To further strengthen the relationship with existing editors and encourage them to maintain interest in the movement.
Measures of success
edit- Provide a list of measurable criteria will you use to determine if your project was successful. You will need to report on the success of your project according to these measures after your project is completed.
- We will consider this project a success if we are able to establish a volunteer base in more than one Canadian city, interested in hosting open door contribution workshops. These workshops may take the form of classroom activities or drop in days at the local library.
Project scope and activities
editThis section describes what will happen if this project is funded.
- List of activites
- What will happen if this project is funded? Who will do what, and when?
- Wikimedia Canada already has accumulated more than one member who works in a public school. These teachers have integrated Wikimedia content into their classrooms in the past and are seeking some support from other members who do not reside locally. Members of Wikimedia Canada have been developing relationships with local libraries as a direct result of media attention attracted from past outreach events. As the organization has been building credibility, these facilities have become interested in hosting our volunteers for outreach activities. We will seek to rally any interested party in taking advantage of these opportunities. Through our participation in Wiki Loves monuments, we will promote the movement in Canada and gain the opportunity to reach potential volunteers across Canada with the goal of conversion from contest participant to movement contributor.
