  • Nov 23rd: Wikipedia Canada organized a half day in Kathmandu, Nepal introducing staff and students to Wikipedia.
  • Nov 1st: Wikipedia Canada organized a half day in New Delhi, India introducing staff and students to Wikipedia.
  • Nov 7th: Wikimedia UK granted charitable status. See [1]. Interesting because of similar basis for Canadian law.ar
  • Sept 10th 2011 - Feb 28th 2012: Applications open for $1000 scholarship for Canadian university students.
  • Oct 6th: Wikimedia was at the University of British Columbia introducing students and staff to editing Wikipedia. Further info: [2]
  • Oct 4th: Wikimedia was at McMaster university introducing students and staff to editing Wikipedia.
  • August 28th: Wikipedia Takes Montreal, the first photo-hunt in Canada will be held 28 August at 10am. The hunt is open to all, many prizes! See video
  • July 15: TRIP Database begins listing Wikipedia articles among its sources of evidence based medicine after agreement with Wikimedia Canada.
  • May 24: Wikimedia Canada was approved as a chapter by the Wikimedia Foundation.
  • May 20: Benoit Rochon of the Wiki Canada board of directors will be attending the GLAMcamp NYC to meet other wikimedians and GLAM representatives, to discuss the key elements of the Glamwiki.org project.
  • April 29: Meet up in Vancouver 7 pm. All invited.
  • April 20: A board meeting is scheduled at 18:00 EDT (Ottawa time). Only members of the Board and guests to contribute, may attend this meeting.
  • March 25: James Heilman and Alan Walker of the Wiki Canada board of directors attend the Wikimedia Conference 2011 to meet with leaders from other Wikimedia Chapters and discuss the future of Wikimedia Canada.
  • March 16: Wiki Canada hold its first annual general meeting.
  • January 24, 2011: Wikimedia Canada's website and membership signup form are now online!

  • November 10, 2010: Wiki Canada is issued letters patent by Industry Canada.
