You form part of a system of interrelationships, which means that by maintaining your environment and contributing to the community, you're also contributing to yourself
The primary objective of this autobiography is that you know me and not my work; that you be able to find my strengths so that I can help you in any way necessary. I am completely against self-promotion and self-aggrandizement, not only of myself but also the advertising of any brand, product, or thing.
I began at wikipedia in 2005. I spent most of my youth in a rural village called Municipio Antonio Díaz in honor of a national leader in the quest for independence, Captain Antonio Díaz. The town was inhabited mainly by a rural population dedicated to the care of goats and small farms.
All these years living face to face with poverty have made me reflect on the great importance of paradigm shift in my personal work and compromise on the content of shared knowledge. Accordingly, I began to collaborate on a project called Kiwix, an offline environment for reading Wikipedia offline as compressed files. It is my personal goal to help get the knowledge in wikis to those who truly need it, the poorest strata of the population.
I am convinced that it is not enough to offer information online, given that the majority of the world's poor do not have access to the Internet, and understanding poverty as a more a matter of culture than of economics.
Currently, besides getting knowledge to the world's poor, I am also focusing on improving content. I worry about matters such as the neutrality, integrity, and quality of articles; the manner in which scientific articles explain their subjects; and prevention of vandal attacks, among other things. Outside of wikis, I am concerned about ecology and the care of the environment.
Although my primary career is in information technology, I also love painting and cartography. That's why I work on image requests and improving the multimedia content of articles.
I am at your service. —Wilfredo Rodríguez 13:50 1 oct 2009 (UTC)
