Consider making a user page? Hmmmm... good idea! Alan.ca 21:36, 3 February 2011 (MST)
Policy templates
editI see that you have developed a red and a blue one of these, and applied one of them to the Membership policy page (most of which is still only a draught). What are your ideas about when to use them? Can this be co-ordinated with Policy Formation where I am doing a bit of work? Eclecticology 12:35, 15 February 2011 (MST)
- I think your three levels are right. I should make a third colour, plus a fourth for policies in development. --Jeffery Nichols (Arctic.gnome) (talk) 16:25, 15 February 2011 (MST)
- For now the only thing that is really official is the Bylaws (even if I don't agree with some of it). Eclecticology 19:07, 15 February 2011 (MST)
Template:Lang
I put the link in the upper right corner because under the title it often entered into conflict with other system messages and the breadcrumbs. Anyway, generally on other websites, the change of languages are in the right corner of page... Francophones are accustomed to look there! And eventually, we will install an extension for MultiLanguageManager. Thanks! Antaya (talk) 14:29, 28 February 2011 (EST)
Main page
editBonsoir Jeffrey! Yes I plan to have a News frame! You might wanna start it here Wikimedia Canada:News... then I'll be able to insert it in a frame on the main page! If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me! Antaya (talk) 23:42, 3 March 2011 (EST)
Sidebar
editHi Jeffrey, yesterday I've chat with the help desk, and I think I found an easy and light solution to manage Sidebar. Hopefully, it should work, using "page-url" in the MediaWiki messages and forcing UI with $wgForceUIMsgAsContentMsg.
Here a start of few links to considered :
$wgForceUIMsgAsContentMsg = array( 'mainpage', 'about-url', 'projects-url', 'policies-url', 'contact-url', 'join-url', 'meetings-url', 'discussions-url', 'todos-url', 'links-url' );

Before I submit this code to Alan, would you like to review the links in the sidebar and the one you would like to add? Thanks. Antaya 13:02, 8 March 2011 (EST)
- So this will make it look for "example-url/fr"? I remember being worried about that code last month for some reason, but now it looks like it should work. We don't have to use every page that we give to $wgForceUIMsgAsContentMsg, so maybe we should also add test1-url, test2-url, and test3-url in case we want to play with it later. Maybe also add media-url and publications-url in case we ever need those. Jeffery Nichols (Arctic.gnome) (talk) 23:58, 8 March 2011 (EST)
March 16 minutes
editI have made some modifications to the format of the meeting minutes. This one will be a little different from most since it also includes AGM minutes. I have added headings for people to put corrections. These should go as separate notes, and not alter your text. I have also added a votes section. Setting it up on routine proceedings like this may help to convince sceptics of on-wiki votes that it works. Eclecticology 02:51, 5 April 2011 (EDT)
Bylaws
editI see that you have posted the revised bylaws. Could the notes at the top please show when they were accepted by Industry Canada? Eclecticology 19:15, 9 April 2011 (EDT)
Translation
editHello Jeffery, I worked to correct translation of Comment adhérer and Bénévolat pages. Finally, there were only small things to fix. I will try to continue to do so in the coming weeks. JF Lepage 10:01, 17 July 2011 (EDT)

How we will see unregistered users
editHi!
You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
If you have not seen it before, you can read more on Meta. If you want to make sure you don’t miss technical changes on the Wikimedia wikis, you can subscribe to the weekly technical newsletter.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.
Thank you. /Johan (WMF)
