Appointment of the Vice-President
editHello,
I am pleased to announce the appointment of Lëa-Kim Châteauneuf as Acting Vice President of Wikimedia Canada. Her professionalism, her sense of duty and her enthusiasm are assets for our association. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome her! Good continuation ! Benoit Rochon (talk) 19:30, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
New visual signature of Wikimedia
editHello,
In 2016, Wikimedia Foundation gave itself a new visual signature replacing its colorful logo with a black logo, more elegant. (See wmf:Visual identity guidelines) I adapted Wikimedia Canada accordingly (see before and after here).
I was wondering if you agreed to change the logo at the top left of our site with the new visual identity? Benoit Rochon (talk) 19:50, 29 June 2018 (UTC)
2-Year membership error
edit- The '2018 and 2019 membership' payment option does not appear to be working. The error I receive is: "Things don't appear to be working at the moment. Please try again later." The 2018 new membership and 2018 membership renewal (single) appears to be working. Mkdw (talk) 19:31, 4 September 2018 (UTC)
- Just a quick note that this is currently still occuring. The error I received was something on the lines of "wrong amount". Snowolf (talk) 17:04, 27 September 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you, I will give a notice to the Treasurer who is in charge of those pages at the next board meeting. JP Béland (WMCA) (talk) 16:44, 21 October 2018 (UTC)

Community Wishlist Survey 2019
editHello my northern neighbors! I'm sure you too have trouble with local outreach. The CentralNotice software was principally designed for national fundraising campaigns. In 2016, WM-NYC filed a task to allow CentralNotice (the banners on top of article pages) to target readers in local areas. Efforts have stalled and to spur progress it would be great if you could support it in the Community Wishlist Survey. Voting ends November 30.
How effective would this be? In 2011, CentralNotices were ran for Wikipedia's 10th birthday. WM-NYC had to cut pre-registration early, unable to accommodate the shear number of people signing up. We could've found a venue if we knew turnout was at that size, but prior and subsequent birthdays without a CentralNotices had less than 10th the RSVPs. Dispenser (talk) 12:00, 21 November 2018 (UTC)
Representations
editNot sure if this has been discussed before, but have we considered sending our Board Chair to the next Chairpersons meeting in 2019? I think there would be a lot of value in doing so. Mkdw (talk) 08:32, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Mkdw, are you talking about the chairpersons meeting in Berlin in March? Benoit Rochon (talk) 20:33, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- I do not have any information about the next one, but yes, I am talking about the "next" one "in 2019". I only linked the 2018 in the name to reference what meeting I am referring to. Will you be attending Benoit? Mkdw (talk) 23:04, 30 December 2018 (UTC)
- Hello Mkdw. This year, Vice-President Lëa-Kim Châteauneuf represents Wikimedia Canada at the Wikimedia Summit 2019 in Berlin. Thanks for asking and happy new year 2019! Benoit Rochon (talk) 09:26, 31 December 2018 (UTC)
